Exminster

A charming little village in Southeast Devon, meaning 'Church beside the Exe', Exminster is an old village, with buildings dating as far back as the 16th century. Although Exminster has become a commuter area for the nearby city of Exeter, it hasn't lost any of the charms of a typically Devonian village.

Please note that Sat Nav users will not arrive at the correct place when using the post code of EX6 8AT - Please follow the directions below once you reach the A379 so that you arrive in the correct place.

Directions from M5

If approaching southbound on the M5 take the third exit or if approaching Northbound on the M5 take the first exit onto the A379. Follow the signs for Starcross & Dawlish and after one mile branch left. Continue on the A379. After 0.3 miles you will reach Countess Weir roundabout (Shell petrol station on your right hand side). At the roundabout take the second exit remaining on the A379, passing over the swing bridge. At the Matford roundabout take the first exit towards Dawlish. After 0.4 miles turn right (signposted Exminster). Pass under the motorway bridge, continue for approx 250 metres, at the brow of the hill turn right through a set of iron gates (picture below) (do not turn immediate right after going under the motorway bridge), if you miss this turning, the Stowey Arms will soon be on your left. Take an immediate right once through the iron gates and follow the driveway (slowly over speed bumps!) to Sannerville Chase.

Directions from A38

Plymouth/Torquay A38 from Plymouth/Torquay onto the Devon Expressway. Just after you reach the bottom take the slip road signposted for Marsh Barton and Exeter A379. Continue straight on past The Devon hotel and follow signs to Dawlish, A379. At the Matford roundabout take the second exit towards Dawlish. After 0.4 miles turn right (signposted Exminster). Pass under the motorway bridge, continue for approx 250 metres, at the brow of the hill turn right through a set of iron gates (picture below), if you miss this turning, the Stowey Arms will soon be on your left. Take an immediate right and follow the driveway (slowly over speed bumps!) to Sannerville Chase.

Directions from A30

A30 from Launceston/Okehampton. Take the Alphington Junction, branch left (signposted Exeter), then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A377 (signposted Exeter).  Turn left immediately after the first set of traffic signals. After 50 yards you need to turn right at the traffic signals. At the next set of traffic lights (Sainsbury's in front of you) turn right and keep in the left hand lane. Bear left onto Church road - B3123 (signposted Dawlish), then take the 1st exit off the roundabout onto Alphinbrook Road go across the mini roundabout then at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Hennock Road Central, carry on through the traffic signals and then at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Bad Homburg Way. The Devon Hotel will be in front of you at the next roundabout. Take the first exit signed posted Dawlish /A379. Follow signs to Dawlish, A379. At the Matford roundabout take the second exit towards Dawlish. After 0.4 miles turn right (signposted Exminster). Pass under the motorway bridge, continue for approx 250 metres, at the brow of the hill turn right through a set of iron gates (picture below), if you miss this turning, the Stowey Arms will soon be on your left. Take an immediate right and follow the driveway (slowly over speed bumps!) to Sannerville Chase located on your right.
