Apple’s products have becoming increasingly popular over the years. As a result increasing numbers of businesses are using Apple products in the workplace.
Traditionally PCs and Macs have occupied different sectors of business, with Macs typically used within the design industry however this have changed over the the years with other industries looking to Macs.
With Microsoft and Apple providing integration to one another’s technology, PC’s and Mac’s are now able to live together on the same network, with a Windows Server or an Apple server at the helm. As a result of this has has become easier to run PCs and Macs in a mixed network and sharing files.
Think before switching to Mac for business
Before making the switch to a Mac for your business, its always worthwhile considering a few key points first:
- File sharing: there was a time when transferring files between a Mac and a PC was a painful process. Thankfully, those days are over. Today, many Mac applications can open files created on a PC and vice versa. You should have no trouble getting files from one system to another.
- Mac and PC mixed network: it’s relatively easy to connect your Macs and PCs via a network. Most office networks won’t care whether you’re plugging a Mac or a PC into them but you may need to ask your IT supplier to set up shared drives and resources.
- Using your usual applications: if you’ve decided to switch from a PC to a Mac, there is software available that can help you run Windows on your Mac. However, there are few circumstances in which you’ll be unable to find a Mac equivalent of your Windows software.
