FORCE Cancer Charity provide vital support to anyone effect by cancer.
It costs £1.2million to maintain the services FORCE provides to support anyone locally affected by cancer, face-to-face. The charity gets no Government funding and relies entirely on voluntary contributions.
To help raise money FORCE runs a series of highly successful events throughout the year and this year is no exception.
It’s a Knockout Challenge – 3rd September 2016
It’s a Knockout is an amazing day, filled with wet and dry obstacles to jump over, through and run around.
Last year 72 teams took part, raising a massive £23,500 for FORCE and they are hoping for the same turnout again this year.
This year’s event is at Topsham Rugby Club on 3rd September (11-4). It’s open to teams of 10 at a cost of £30 per team member. There will be 12 colourful obstacles inflatables, costumes, props, water and, of course, lots of bubbles.
To enter a team please call 01392 402875 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Nello Century Cycle Challenge – 26th June 2016
The Nello Century Cycle Challenge is the biggest fundraising event in the FORCE calendar. The cycle challenge started with group of 20 friends who organised a ride to raise money for FORCE in memory of their friend Nello Ghezzo, a local restaurateur who lost his battle against cancer in 1999. Their route was one of Nello’s favourite rides around the Devon countryside, offering challenging hills, fantastic downhill sections and amazing scenery.
The Nello, now run by FORCE, has grown year on year with entries capped at 1,500 cyclists, showing how the event has grown in popularity.
The Nello 2016 will start from Topsham Rugby Club on Sunday 26th June, with two routes – 100 miles or 55 miles – both ending back at the rugby club.
Entries are now open. It costs £35 to enter before mid-June or £50 after. All cyclists are welcome to enter the event but bear in mind that it is not a race and the ride is not chip timed. The aim is to raise vital funds for FORCE.
