The AME team have been delighted to work with Dawlish Community transport to provide them with a new phone system and IT equipment.
Sally Preston from Dawlish Community transport got in touch with us as they had some dated systems, that were failing them. They were at their office when they first went there more than 30 years ago, so that does give you an idea as to how old their IT equipment was.
The council were able to donate £5,000 towards the cost of the upgrade and CLLR Clatworthy a further £1,000. The charity funded the remaining money themselves.

As well as backing up information and providing a new answerphone system, the system will also allow Dawlish Community Transport to become more paperless and comply with the new GDPR regulations.
As well as their popular ‘Ring and Ride’ service, the good cause also provides Shopmobility services and vehicles for hire.
They provide themselves on offering ‘realistic prices’ to people of all ages in Dawlish and the surrounding areas.
The charity relies heavily on people giving up their free time: it is always on the lookout for anybody else who can help.
“We just wouldn’t survive without the work of our fantastic volunteers,” Ms Preston added.
