In the last few months with many employees working from home it has been apparent that companies of all sizes do not have a modern phone system that has allowed them to leave the office behind and give their teams seamless access from home to the office phone system and video conferencing. Zoom has become one of the most talked about platforms in the media and online, taking over as a marketing term like Hoover did with the vacuum and Ipad did with the tablet. Zoom is just of many solutions on the market and you may already have the technology at your finger tips without having to spend a penny.
3CX and VOIP
A modern VOIP based phone system such as our recommended solution 3CX is already used by many of our customers. This award-winning Microsoft Windows-based IP phone system runs on a standard windows desktop eliminating the need for costly proprietary hardware. 3CX allows you to communicate via a traditional desk phone, a softphone on your computer via a headset, mobile phone app and video conference, all of which are built into the system at no extra cost. So whether you are in the office, at home, on the move or want to see your colleagues and customers on video chat, your 3CX phone system does it all, no matter where you are in the world. The video conferencing application is run over a web browser, which means the person you are talking to does not need to install anything to be able to chat with you. With all the same features in Zoom, such as sharing a desktop for a presentation or remote assistance to see the other persons screen, it is free and easy if you already use 3CX.
Another application you can use for video conferencing is Microsoft Teams which is an app built into most subscriptions of Microsoft 365. You may remember the original brand in video conference, Skype, which came out in the early 2000’s, well Microsoft purchased them in 2011. Microsoft developed Teams on the back of Skype and has integrated it into Microsoft 365 (formally office 365). Microsoft Teams brings everything together in a shared workspace where you can chat, meet, share files and work with business apps. In addition to some of these great features which can help your own team work more efficiently, is the ability to hold video conferencing meetings with your customers and suppliers in the same way you can with Zoom. If you already have a Microsoft 365 subscription, then you probably have teams as well at no extra cost.
Both 3CX and Teams are solutions you can use not only whilst working from home, but in your office conference room. With a wide choice of cameras, large screens and audio equipment we can assist in setting up your conference room, as well as helping you get the most out of a phone system like 3CX or your Microsoft 365 subscription, so that your business can communicate effectively and seamlessly.
