Many businesses have or are considering migrating across to Office 365. Office 365 is changing the way that businesses are working but for those businesses who are still in the decision making process we have put together some of the key benefits that should help make that decision easier.
Migrating to Office 365 can help businesses provide staff with the ability to work from anywhere, anytime on any device with the only requirement being an internet connection.
Documents, emails, contacts, calendars and more can be accessed whilst on the go.
With Office 365 you only pay for what you are using. Therefore, as your business grows adding more licences or storage is simple and quick to implement.
With Office 365 you no longer have to change products when the next version is released. As part of your subscription you have instant access to updates and bug fixes as soon as they are released.
Reduces capital spend
Office 365 is a subscription-based service, which means you pay an annual or monthly fee per user. It eliminates the large up-front costs for new software; you’re essentially leasing vs. buying. This also moves IT costs from capital to operating expenses.
Installation on up to 5 devices per user
Multi-device usage is commonplace nowadays; From using a desktop at the office, a laptop while you travel, a tablet at home, and a smartphone. The beauty of Office 365 is that documents can now be accessed from any of these devices, and auto-syncing means that the most current version is always at hand.
Office 365 has a lot of security features built in to keep your data secure such as; message encryption, Advanced threat analytics, mobile device management and data loss prevention.
What are the different options?
The truth is there are many options, but here are the main three that the majority of businesses require:
- Business Essentials includes the latest version Exchange email and the online version
- Business comes with online and desktop versions of the Office application suite
- Business Premium comes with Exchange email and the online, desktop ,and mobile versions of the Office application suite.
There are many other plans if your business has different needs or you are a charitable organisation, Enterprise, School or college.
The beauty of these plans is that they can be mixed and matched. You may have some users that do not require the office applications and therefore a Business Essentials licence for email only would be suitable for them.
