Calls regarding ISDN and PSTN ending soon? Is this right?
We have recently heard from several businesses that they have been receiving calls from companies who are a BT local business saying that PSTN and ISDN services will be stopped in 2020.
BT local businesses are a network of local franchises, the businesses are legitimate however we have heard that some of them may have not been clear in their instruction surrounding IDSN and PSTN networks and we have seen some businesses worrying that their services are going to be cut off. This is potentially leading businesses into making rash and quick decisions regarding their phone system.
Just for clarification BT will no longer be offering PSTN and ISDN services from 2020. This means that BT will no longer be selling these services to companies but It does not mean that your services will stop in 2020. BT will continue to provide support for any businesses with these services until 2025.
In light of this we recommend businesses should plan their move to a VOIP Phone system before this date. There is plenty of time to organise and switch to a VOIP solution so please do not panic…..but just be mindful that you should have this all in place by 2025.
